Online program now includes United States Foreign Policy and National Security and International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

Washington, D.C.- July 22, 2014 - American University's School of International Service (SIS), a top ten ranked graduate school of international relations, has announced two new concentrations available for students enrolled in International Relations Online (IR Online), the school's online Master of Arts in International Relations. Along with the existing International Development and Global Security concentrations, students will now have the opportunity to pursue a concentration in United States Foreign Policy and National Security or International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.

International Relations Online Program's New Concentrations
United States Foreign Policy and National Security

  • Focuses on the economic, historical, political, social, and strategic underpinnings of foreign, defense, intelligence, and national security policy.

International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

  • Trains students to assess, negotiate, and resolve disputes involving transnational issues and differing cultures.

International Relations Online Program's Existing Concentrations
International Development

  • Equips students with skills needed for careers that contribute to improving the lives of people in low-income communities throughout the world.

Global Security

  • Introduces students to the causes and dynamics of peace and security to prepare them for a role in preventing, managing, and resolving conflict.
