3M today named Marlene M. McGrath senior vice president, Human Resources. McGrath, 49, has led Human Resources for 3M's international operations since 2006, most recently as vice president, Human Resources, International Operations. She will report to 3M President and Chief Executive Officer Inge Thulin.

"Marlene's international experience and proven leadership skills make her an ideal leader for this important assignment," said Thulin. "Her deep understanding of 3M's employee brand will serve the company well as we expand our operations around the world."

An 18-year 3M employee, McGrath holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Prior to her international assignment, she served as general counsel and executive director of Corporate Services of 3M Canada and as leader of 3M Canada's Specialty Materials, Dyneon and Filtration Products business.

McGrath succeeds Angela S. Lalor, who announced her departure from 3M to pursue opportunities at Danaher Corp.
