AKRON, Ohio - June 12, 2018 - A. Schulman Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM), a leading international supplier of
high-performance plastic compounds is now expanding its polyethylene based range of specialty powders with Icorene® 9106.

The new product is fully compliant with the flame retardant standard UL94 V-0, but it does not only help mitigating fire danger and reducing speed of flame spread. Icorene®9106 also increases safety for the molder and the end user by being halogen-free.

Icorene®9106 is one of the rare rotomolding grades on the market which meet both requirements. The material also offers a wide processing window and provides the same characteristics, properties and UL94 V-0 FR performance as conventional halogenated grades. To obtain a UL94 V0 rating, the material must meet stringent criteria with regards to after flame and afterglow time.'The new grade provides molders with more options to meet safer and more sustainable requirements in a variety of markets', comments Les Druyf Product Line Manager.
