WOOD DALE, Ill., March 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced today that it has earned Boeing Gold Performance Excellence Awards at two AAR operating units. AAR is distinguished by receiving awards at more than one facility supporting Boeing.

The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance. AAR maintained Gold composite performance ratings for each month of the 12-month performance period, from Oct. 1, 2010, to Sept. 30, 2011.

"We are honored to earn Boeing's Gold Performance Excellence award at two of our facilities and proud of the AAR employees who work hard every day to maintain high standards of performance and operational excellence," said Timothy J. Romenesko, President and Chief Operating Officer of AAR CORP. "These awards also demonstrate the breadth of AAR's capabilities in support of both commercial aviation and government and defense markets."

AAR's Aircraft Component Repair division in Europe earned the award for in-house component repairs and managing a network of component repair subcontractors in support of European airlines operating the 717 and 737 NG aircraft. AAR's Defense Systems and Logistics division was recognized for their supply chain management services in support of The Boeing Company's Harrier Integrated Supply Support (HISS) performance-based logistics contract. The program supports AV-8B Harriers operated by the U.S. Marine Corps, Italy and Spain from Cherry Point, North Carolina, where AAR manages inventory and logistics for the versatile fixed-wing aircraft.
