SKF specializes in manufacturing and marketing of bearings, seals and lubrication systems. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale of bearings and seals (57.8%): spherical and cylindrical roller bearings, angular contact ball bearings, average deep groove ball bearings and high precision bearings, and seals primarily for car and truck manufacturers. The group also manufactures lubrication systems and rails allowing linear movements;
- services (39.2%): primarily technical support, maintenance and training services;
- other (3%).
At the end of 2012, the group had over 140 production sites worldwide.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Sweden (2.7%), Europe (40.1%), Asia-Pacific (24.4%), North America (22.2%) and other (10.6%).
