March 18, 2015. Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, published its Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2014 on February 23, coinciding with its results presentation for 2014.

The CSR Report, which includes all of the information about the company's social, economic and environmental performance, has been prepared in accordance with the "exhaustive" option of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 guidelines and addresses the major challenges facing the company.

The latest changes to this report include publication of the company's new targets for 2020. These goals represent a public commitment by Abengoa to improve its performance and the responsible management of its businesses. In 2014 it also finalized the design of the new Corporate Social Responsibility Strategic Plan, which will monitor compliance with these commitments, among other issues.

Last year the organization continued to implement measures to combat climate change, becoming one of the first 20 companies to agree to set an internal carbon price (€9 per ton of CO2eq) in accordance with the United Nations' Caring for Climate framework. The company also achieved an estimated theoretical reduction of 459,658 tCO2eq.

The company continues to view R&D and innovation as the main driver of its growth, investing a total of €597.8 million in this area in 2014, equivalent to 8.1% of sales, while in financial reporting Abengoa remains committed to providing investors and analysts with transparent and up-to-date information. In other areas, the Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2014 includes the first report on the company's projects financed with the green bond that it launched in September.

In 2014 Abengoa invested €9.5 million in social action and opened two new centers in its PEyC social development program (People, Education and Communities) in South Africa and Sri Lanka respectively. The PEyC project is now present in nine countries and currently has 5,796 direct beneficiaries. Abengoa has also joined the London Benchmarking Group to ensure greater transparency and comparability of the data it shares.
