• In line with plans to float Abertis' terrestrial telecommunications business on the stock market in 2015, Abertis Telecom is adapting its structure accordingly, having created two new areas: Finance and Corporate Development, and Public and Corporate Affairs.
  • In future, Abertis Telecom intends to operate independently, with its own brand, corporate identity and management team.

Abertis' terrestrial telecommunications arm, "Abertis Telecom Terrestre", is entering a new stage marked by its possible IPO in 2015. This comes in addition to plans to make the company one of the world's leading telecommunications infrastructure service providers.

To achieve these goals, Abertis Telecom will gradually bring in the skills and functions necessary to ensure that it can respond and act on all fronts. It will integrate the management areas of the company that until now have been overseen, fully or partially, by corporate areas of the Group.

In this respect, the company has announced the creation of two new integrated areas in its organization. These areas will play a crucial role in the most immediate plans to list the company, as well as in its longer-term growth and internationalization projects.

The first area is Finance and Corporate Development, which will encompass all finance management of the terrestrial telecommunications business, corporate development, strategic planning, management control, investor relations and tax management. Finance and Corporate Development will report directly to Abertis Telecom's Managing Director, Tobías Martínez. It will be run, as CFO (Chief Financial Officer), by José Manuel Aisa, until now Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development of the Abertis group.

The second area is Public and Corporate Affairs, which will comprise external communication, institutional relations and relations with government bodies (EU and administrations), brand management and corporate responsibility. Public and Corporate Affairs, which will also report directly to the Managing Director, will be headed by Antoni Brunet, until now Corporate Director of European Affairs and Corporate Director of Studies and Presidential Office at Abertis.
