Accenture (NYSE:ACN) and Box (NYSE:BOX) today announced that Amadeus, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry, is bringing Box’s enterprise content management and collaboration platform to its 13,000-person global workforce. Amadeus chose Box to balance employee demand for mobile content access and intuitive external collaboration with the need for enterprise-grade management and security.

As part of its enterprise mobility strategy, Amadeus worked to improve the sharing of information by employees when using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Accenture was chosen to evaluate the available technologies and run a pilot. Amadeus chose Box for its intuitive external collaboration and enterprise-grade management and security.

The Accenture-run pilot helped reveal a number of additional benefits of using the Box platform, including secure collaboration capabilities with third-party organizations, a preview capability and Box Notes, a tool that project teams can use for collaboration.

“Collaboration and security continue to be critical priorities as we drive our business forward. With this in mind, we are focused on creating an environment for our employees and external teams which is increasingly better connected, while at the same time continuing to safeguard our systems and data,” said Alexandre Cabaud, vice president of Global Business Services at Amadeus. “Moving to the Box platform with Accenture provides increased efficiency, security and simplicity for our employees, and helps our organization be even more productive and effective in working with our customers and partners.”

“Through our alliance with Accenture, Box is able to help Amadeus take advantage of this period of tremendous IT change and opportunity, by empowering their workforce with truly collaborative technologies,” said David Quantrell, senior vice president and general manager of EMEA at Box. “Box helps customers like Amadeus confidently integrate content sharing, collaboration and mobility into their workforce by coupling an intuitive end-user experience with robust administrative controls to securely manage information across a global organization.”

Accenture has implemented the Box platform for all of the 13,000 employees who will use the new technology at Amadeus. The complete deployment will help deliver increased productivity with faster access to content and improved responsiveness from the teams. Some third party organizations have also been provided secure access for collaboration needs.

“Accenture’s intimate knowledge of the business processes of Amadeus and broad experience in the airline industry puts us in a unique position to help them achieve key business outcomes such as improved productivity, increased revenue and the ability to quickly introduce new products and services,” said Miguel-Angel Garcia Diez, managing director in Accenture’s Travel practice. “The goal of our collaboration is to enhance mobility through increased employee engagement, which will drive higher levels of satisfaction.”

Box makes it easy for more than 40 million individuals at 50,000 businesses around the world to share and collaborate. With today’s announcement, Amadeus joins a growing list of global leaders who have moved to Box, including General Electric, Anglo American, and Schneider Electric.
