Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has collaborated with Salesforce to extend the capabilities of Salesforce Health Cloud, giving life sciences companies and healthcare providers the ability to support more informed patient decisions, help increase patient engagement across their caregiver networks, and more efficiently and effectively manage patient data.

The Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform now leverages the Salesforce Health Cloud to provide complementary features such as more connectivity to electronic health records for comprehensive views of patient and patient care coordination with providers. The Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform – which uses analytics to help design more precise patient programs based on identified requirements of unique patient segments through the full treatment periods – is being used by several leading pharmaceutical companies.

“Digitally-enabled life sciences and health companies will lead the revolution in patient care and improving health outcomes,” said Tom Schwenger, senior managing director, Accenture Life Sciences North America. “This integration is a culmination of collaboration by Salesforce Health Cloud and Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform engineering teams. By integrating the Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform with the Salesforce Health Cloud, we will further help clients build stronger patient relationships and a greater level of engagement, which will improve the industry support for patient care.”

“Changing consumer expectations makes it imperative for care providers to manage patient data and increase engagement in more effective ways,” said Joshua Newman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, GM, Salesforce Healthcare and Life Sciences, Salesforce. “Health Cloud is all about building stronger patient relationships, and working with Accenture is an essential part of our journey toward creating a modern healthcare platform for patients, doctors and the extended community involved in care.”

Accenture joined Salesforce as a Health Cloud launch partner at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference in Las Vegas this February. The Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform includes a Salesforce Fullforce Certified Solution.

Fullforce certification is Salesforce’s highest recommendation of an industry-specific solution developed on its platform, recognizing partners with validated implementation expertise who achieve higher levels of sales and delivery success. The Accenture Intelligent Patient Platform has a large base of customers in 15 global markets spanning North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Accenture has the industry’s largest practice of Salesforce certified consultants that provide extensive industry knowledge and customer relationship management expertise for clients that have chosen cloud computing solutions. Accenture was one of the first global companies to establish a strategic alliance partnership with Salesforce and today has the industry’s leading capabilities in Salesforce with more than 3,700 unique certified professionals around the world. The collaboration around Salesforce Health Cloud continues expanding on the existing alliance between the two companies.
