Accenture Mobilizes Support of More Than $US2 Million to Aid Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief and Reconstruction Efforts


NEW YORK; Nov. 22, 2013 - Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced more than US$2 million in cash and pro-bono contributions to support disaster relief and reconstruction efforts in the Philippines, following Typhoon Haiyan.

"On behalf of our people in the region and around the world, we are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan," said Pierre Nanterme, Accenture Chairman & CEO. "Our thoughts remain with our colleagues, their families and the people of the Philippines, as we commit to supporting the rebuilding process."

Accenture's contributions include the following mix of financial giving and time and skills of its people: 
  • Accenture and the Accenture Foundations will donate US$1 million to Skills to Succeed strategic partner Plan International. Cash grants will offer support for long-term reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts required to enable communities to rebuild through skills development and economic activity.
  • Accenture Development Partnerships will deliver pro-bono consulting services to Plan International during the reconstruction phase, when business and technology expertise offer the greatest impact in areas such as skills building and job training.
  • To date, Accenture people worldwide have contributed more than US$600,000 to the Philippine Red Cross and other charities providing local relief.
  • Additionally, Accenture is providing employees in the Philippines with paid volunteering time to support relief operations.
