Gilles Pélisson, Chief Executive Officer, Appointed Chairman of the Board
The Accor Board of Directors met today to approve the resolutions to be
submitted to the Shareholders Meeting on May 13th, in particular those
concerning the renewal of the Board whose three-year term is coming to an end.
A majority of the Board members having expressed their will to reduce the number
of seats on the Board and to combine the positions of Chairman and CEO, the
Chairman of the Board and five other Board members resigned.
Acknowledging this decision, the Board appointed Gilles Pélisson, CEO, as
Chairman of the Board.
A new Appointments Committee, comprising five members, including all independent
boards members, was asked to prepare a list of appointments for the next Board
meeting, to be held by mid-March to be submitted to the Shareholders Annual
Meeting.
It has been decided that the future Board will be limited to no more than 13
members, and that it will comply with the AFEP/Medef recommendations, regarding
the proportion of independent boards members.
