ACE Group today announced that Cate Whiddon, Vice President, Railroad, ACE Westchester, ACE’s wholesale-focused business in the U.S., will participate in a panel discussion at the upcoming American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) Connections Annual Conference, to be held in San Diego, CA, from April 22 to April 25, 2014, participating in a session entitled “Rail Insurance – Current Trends and Historical Perspectives in Light of Recent Events.” Ms. Whiddon will focus her talk on evaluating the risk of transporting crude oil by rail. American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association is one of the largest railroad industry events for rail industry representatives, featuring more than 40 breakout sessions addressing railroading’s most relevant issues, such as railroad safety, crisis management, rail integrity, and derailment and fatality prevention.

Commenting on the opportunity, Ms. Whiddon said, “I’m pleased to be able to participate in this session and speak about ACE’s new railroad division, as well as the many benefits of transporting crude oil by rail, the risks to consider, and safety protocols. The benefits of rail transport are many, but also include the importance of maintaining product integrity, the ability to deliver desired volumes of the product, and the benefits of a strong, established infrastructure.”
