Acer BYOC calls for partners to build the Wangdao ecosystem together, create value and share the rewards of the future

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (Oct. 13, 2014) The first Acer BYOC™ (Build Your Own Cloud) Forum will be held on October 15 in Taipei. Acer is inviting partners to the forum to discuss the opportunities of the Internet of Things (IoT) and BYOC. By presenting the latest developments of BYOC and its future direction, Acer calls on potential partners to join the BYOC alliance to create value and share the rewards of the future.

"Acer will establish a mechanism that creates value and balances the interests of all stakeholders," said Stan Shih, Acer Honorary Chairman. "With our passion to change the world, we will collaborate with partners to realize the Wangdao principles of benevolence in this era of the cloud."

Joining the Acer BYOC Forum are J.C. Hsu, MediaTek's general manager of new business development; Dr. B.J. Woo, TSMC's vice president of business development; and Elliot Garbus, Intel's vice president of Internet of Things solutions group. The guests will share their thoughts on IoT development and trends from the perspective of upstream chip manufacturers.

BYOC alliance members from various industries will also be joining the forum to share experiences. Currently, BYOC applications are available in the fields of healthcare, connected home, and integrated communication.
Acer premiered its BYOC solutions in May this year at the opening of the BYOC Experience Center, which showcased solutions for both individuals and businesses.

BYOC is Acer's new brand for solutions designed to redefine the connected world in the era of the cloud technology, and demonstrates how individuals and businesses can become A Touch More Connected through BYOC.
