Paste named the Chromebook 15 one of "The 10 Best Gadgets from CES 2015," "… the device has a 15.6" display, a choice of 16GB or 32GB SSD drive and a choice of 2GB or 4GB of RAM…  at a price of $249, it's already sounding like one of the best Chromebooks yet."

The Verge in "This is the year to buy a laptop" notes, "When it comes to the budget 'buy something for your parents' market, this new laptop is the most significant new entrant in years... Acer's laptop is also well-made and has a design that doesn't betray its budget aspirations."

Slashgear noted, "Acer's Chromebook 15 is just what Chrome OS needs."
