TAIPEI, TAIWAN (Aug 10, 2015) Acer has secured the #1 market share position in the U.S. Chrome sales during Q2 2015 across three channels: commercial, distribution, and retailers, according to the latest data from The NPD Group. In the final month of Q2 in June, Acer improved to 47% unit share of Chrome OS notebooks in the commercial channel, making it a dominant #1 player in the Chromebook category1.

Acer also performed well in several other Chromebook categories in June. It was the #1 player in Chrome OS notebooks in the US and Canada2. In Canada Acer captured 56% share of unit sales via retail and distribution and in the US Acer secured #1 with more than 30% share via distribution and 30% unit share at retail.

These excellent results demonstrate Acer's commitment in providing quality products, support and services to the education market. The Chromebook line has been a hit with the U.S. education sector, a segment that Acer has strategically invested in building strong relationships with over the past seven years.
