Stellar performance in Q3 also attributed to the strong growth in 2-in-1 notebooks and Chromebooks

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (Oct. 13, 2014) According to preliminary data by IDC, Acer saw the highest year-on-year (YoY) worldwide PC shipment growth among the top 4 players in Q3 2014 at 11.4%. This was in contrast to the overall industry decline of 1.7%. Quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), Acer also saw the highest worldwide PC shipment growth among the top 4 at 12.3%, surpassing the industry average of 4.8%. Acer held 8.4% of the PC market share in Q3 2014.

On top of the growth of traditional PCs, Acer's stellar performance in Q3 can also be attributed to its strong growth in 2-in-1 notebooks and Chromebooks, which have garnered many great reviews from media and technology experts.
