Acer Incorporated : Acer Cuts 2012 Total Shipment Growth Forecast; Weak Global Economy Weighs

TAIPEI--Taiwanese personal computer maker Acer Inc. (2353.TW) said Friday it revised down its growth forecast for 2012 total shipments including notebooks, tablets and smartphones as the euro-debt crisis and global economic uncertainties weigh on consumer demand.
The world's fourth-largest PC maker by shipments said it now expects full-year shipment growth to be between flat and up to 5%, compared to its previous forecast of up to 10%.
Acer also said it expects third-quarter shipment growth to be between flat and up to 5% from the second quarter, without giving more details.
