Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that Orange Business Services (OBS) Greece will now offer Acme Packet's Net-Net® session border controller (SBC) solution to service providers and enterprise customers in Greece and the Balkans. OBS, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is dedicated to providing international business services, such as IP transport, virtual private networks (VPNs) and voice over IP (VoIP) trunking, to corporations, as well as integration services to service providers.

OBS has already deployed Acme Packet's SBC solution for Lannet Communications, a service provider that offers telecommunications services through its privately owned nationwide network in Greece. As part of its next generation network, Lannet is leveraging Acme Packet's Net-Net SBC to deliver VoIP services to residential and small and medium enterprise customers in Athens.

Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs combine purpose-built hardware with session border control features that together deliver carrier-class scalability, performance and reliability. Supporting multiple protocols and multiple applications, the Net-Net SBCs provide critical control functions at both access and interconnect borders, satisfying requirements in five major areas: security, service reach maximization, SLA assurance, revenue and profit protection and regulatory compliance. The Net-SAFE® security features, including robust SBC DoS/DDoS protection, dynamic access control lists and topology hiding, help ensure that IP networks are secure and available to provide IP interactive communication services.

?At OBS, we choose leading technologies in order to deliver a fully integrated communication solution to our customers,? stated Maria Lambropoulou, sales manager from OBS Greece. ?Along with the Net-Net SBC's unparalleled feature set, Acme Packet's experience in deploying its SBCs all over the world gives us confidence that we are choosing the right product and company.?

?OBS has a solid reputation in designing and developing next generation networks for alternative service providers,? explained Seamus Hourihan, vice president of marketing and product management at Acme Packet. ?We look forward to building upon the initial success of the Lannet Communications deployment and delivering our leading session border controller to service providers and enterprises throughout the region.?
