Training drivers in eco-responsible driving is among the most promising actions to reduce CO2 emissions. It has such potential that certain ADEMEs (Environment and Energy Management Agencies) are readily accrediting training schemes.

ACTIA is strengthening its eco-driving service offer with the 'AFC' function designed for driver training professionals.

This application, a product of ACTIA Fleet's telematics expertise, involves monitoring a person's driving on a given route, in order to evaluate their performance. The driver evaluation is based on measuring differences between the performances of their route and that of another route (the reference route, or another route travelled by the same person). The vehicles used for training are part of the operator's fleet, and are also used on the network. The vehicle equipment used in ACTIA's AFC function is therefore identical to the other vehicles in service. The Telematics Gateway Unit (TGU) communicates via Wi-Fi with the trainer's tablet or any other HTML5-compatible tablet.

This function has already won over several public transport operators, including the RTM in Marseille and KBM in Bordeaux, and other renewal agreements are under way.
