A bus driver's job is very demanding. There are many constraints, in particularly with regards to their posture, so they need to be able to count on a driving cab which is ergonomical. After looking at the work environment of a bus driver, the ISO 16121 certification was created and it shows the expectations which need to be met on the subject. In the same way, the European Bus System of the Future (EBSF) program lists the requirements of a drivers' cab in function to the comfort and safety of the drivers. PODIUM 2, the new dashboard for town buses which has been created by ACTIA fills the requirements by bringing all the functions that contribute the best ergonomic position: integrated controls which remain accessible, a comfortable space, tactile controls, a big display screen... The qualities of Podium 2 contribute to the compliance of drivers' cabs under the ISO 16121 certification, along with the comfort of the seat, the pedals, the cabin, the storage... Providing drivers with a large range of ergonomic adjustments which will help with their posture, is a major part of their choice in vehicles and equipment.
