CHICAGO, June 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VelocityEHS, the leading cloud environment, health, safety (EHS) and sustainability software provider, is reminding EHS professionals to submit their Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reports to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by the July 1, 2017 deadline.

The annual EPA reporting requirement – which observes its 30th anniversary this year – covers facilities with 10 or more employees in specific industries that manufacture, process or use regulated toxic chemicals in quantities above the agency’s threshold level in a given year. VelocityEHS’ free webinar, “EPA Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Reporting: How to Ensure Compliance,” on June 20, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET offers a comprehensive overview of the entire reporting process and covers new developments – like the addition of 1-bromopropane to the TRI chemicals list – to help companies stay in compliance with TRI reporting requirements.

“Safety professionals face an uphill battle when it comes to meeting today’s complex environmental reporting requirements,” said Glenn Trout, president and CEO of VelocityEHS. “We work closely with our customers to develop software solutions that help to remove the kind of confusion that leads to inaccurate results and non-compliance. By streamlining access to real-time information, employers not only get the peace of mind that comes with accurate reporting, they also gain the visibility needed to drive process improvements that lead to positive environmental impacts.”

The VelocityEHS Environmental Management Software – which includes Air Emissions, Water Quality and Waste Compliance modules – helps streamline the TRI reporting process by collecting and analyzing high volumes of environmental monitoring data to generate reports that are properly-formatted for the EPA’s TRI-MEweb interface. In addition to simplifying the reporting process, the VelocityEHS software helps ensure that the data being reported is more accurate, eliminating errors and non-compliance often experienced through the use of manual spreadsheets. The sophisticated, yet easy-to-use system, improves data visibility and management of environmental compliance, helping users achieve greater environmental sustainability.

The EPA requires facilities subject to the TRI reporting requirement to use TRI-MEweb to submit their TRI reporting forms to the EPA by July 1, 2017. Visit www.epa.gov/toxics-release-inventory-tri-program for more information.
