Adept Boosts Leadership Team With the Appointment of Senior Executives

PLEASANTON, Calif., Aug. 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions and services, today announced the appointment of four executives to its leadership team. These individuals will be instrumental in the development and execution of Adept's growth strategy.

Larry Anderson joins Adept as Vice President of Mobile Sales. He has responsibility for executing the company's mobile robot strategy on a worldwide basis. He comes to Adept with over 25 years of high tech Sales and Sales Management experience, most recently with Aehr Test Systems as their Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Prior to Aehr, he held several senior sales management roles within Cymer, Advantest/Verigy, FormFactor, and Komag.

Merrill Apter joins Adept as the Vice President of North American Sales where he is responsible for driving sales in North America and expanding the company's distribution channels in Mexico and Canada. He has over 20 years of sales, business development and marketing management experience in high technology, industrial OEM and capital equipment. Prior to joining Adept he served as Vice President of Sales for Americas at Telesis Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of industrial marking and engraving equipment.

Terry Hannon joins Adept as Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy. He is responsible for developing the company's long term strategy and product roadmaps.  Most recently he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of NP Photonics, Inc. Prior to this he held leadership roles as Executive Vice President at XSiL and Vice President and General Manager at Coherent Inc.

Hai Chang has been promoted to Vice President of Asia and Strategic programs where he oversees the company's operations in Asia, Oceania, and South America. He most recently served Adept as Director of Sales for the Americas and was also responsible for establishing the company's subsidiary in China. He brings a wealth of industry experience to this important role.
