Adesso AG : adesso’s information security management system has been certified

Dortmund, 28 February 2013-adesso AG's information security management system (ISMS) has been optimised and certified according to ISO 27001. The IT service provider has thereby underlined its high quality standards in software projects.

The focus of the certification is on the development of software using "Pragmatic IT Project Management" (PITPM) methodology. In particular, this includes project documentation, source code, and the technologies used, but also the employees involved in the software development process at adesso's locations in Dortmund, Berlin and Stralsund. adesso's in-house project management methodology, PITPM, covers the planning, execution, introduction and finalisation stages of a project.
Data protection and the safe handling of information are decisive criteria, listed among the requirements for IT projects at every company. Its optimised development process allows adesso to meet the demand for quality. Within
the context of ISMS, the value creation objectives of the core areas of software development and consulting are more closely interlinked with central areas such as IT operations and human resources. In keeping with ISO
27001, adesso has established a company-wide rule system, which takes on the function of central governance for the safe handling of information, and which is documented in a way that is comprehensible to all employees.
"This system of rules allows us to optimally meet the increasing requirements resulting from regulatory standards, the growing awareness of critical security issues, and the higher risk of liability," explains Dr. Rüdiger Striemer, co-CEO of adesso. "The certification according to ISO 27001 underlines our ability to meet compliance requirements consistently and to maintain high quality standards."
