Admiral : welcomes its 10,000th employee on board

Local employer, Admiral Group has welcomed its 10,000th employee who has started work in the company's Claims department in Cardiff.

When the south Wales headquartered company launched in 1993, it had just 57 members of staff based in Cardiff.

25 years later, Admiral now employs 10,000 members of staff in eight different countries across the world, employing more than 6,800 people in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport alone.

After checking new starters in all its operations around the world, Mostofa Miah, who joined Admiral in March this year, was identified as the company's 10,000th employee.

Before joining Admiral, Mostofa worked as a supervisor in a restaurant. He has two cousins who also work in Claims and friends in the company's Sales department.

Admiral's Recruitment team surprised Mostofa in his department to present him with a special 10,000th employee award and doughnuts to share with his new team.

He said, 'I'd heard Admiral was a very good place to work with friendly and helpful staff, and I felt I needed a change as I have been working in the restaurant business for 18 years.

'I wanted to test myself and gain new skills and I felt I could do that at Admiral. And working here means I work during the daytime instead of evenings so I get to give my wife and children more of my time.'

Mostofa plans to progress his career in Admiral, hoping to gain enough skills and knowledge to able to progress in the company.
