Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), a leading provider of business software applications and services, has experienced a 13% increase in the adoption of finance management software within the education sector in the last financial year (March 2014 - March 2015).

Advanced already works with a wide range of customers in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors including councils, NHS Trusts and charities and is spreading its reach in further and higher education.

Burnley College and NPTC Group of Colleges are just two of many customers that went live with Advanced's financial management solutions in 2014.

Burnley College has saved four days a month in man hours due to increased efficiencies after implementing financial management solution, OpenAccounts, and electronic workflow, eBIS.

NPTC Group of Colleges has achieved efficiency savings of £100,000 since it went paperless by deploying OpenAccounts, eBIS, and document management functionality powered by V1 technology.

Dean Dickinson, Managing Director, Advanced Business Solutions (Public Sector & Enterprise Division), said: "We are pleased to be building our presence within the education sector and seeing more colleges and universities benefitting from using Advanced's technology. At a time when these organisations are still under pressure to cut costs, investing in the right finance system can play a key role in helping to deliver substantial savings.

"In this new financial year we are already seeing an increase in demand from colleges and universities, which are looking for innovative ways to maximise control and achieve efficiencies."

Advanced also provides other software for the education sector through Compass Computer Consultants (Compass) and Advanced Learning, which are part of the Advanced Business Solutions division.

Compass' software is used in more than 90% of colleges of further education in England and its suite of solutions includes student monitoring, self-assessment reporting, lesson observation and CRM. The company has also experienced strong growth in the past financial year with 28% profit growth and 60% growth in licence sales.

Advanced Learning provides management information systems, data analytics and timetabling and room-booking solutions, and its customers include academies, schools, colleges and universities.

Advanced Business Solutions is a division of Advanced Computer Software Group Limited, a leading supplier of software and IT services to the health, care and business services sectors.
