NEW ORLEANS-APCO International 2014-August 4, 2014- Aeroflex Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp. (NYSE:ARX), announced today additional test and alignment capabilities for Motorola APX Series Radios on the Aeroflex 3920B Digital Radio Test Set. The new test capabilities focus on Phase II Transmit and Receive tests.

The Aeroflex Automated Test and Alignment procedure provides fully automated test and alignment of Motorola APX radios without the need for user interaction. This test system ensures consistent and reliable tests and alignment to manufacturer-recommended specifications and to industry standards, ensuring proper interoperability and a uniform standard of performance within the radio's network technology. Phase II modulation is becoming more prominent in P25 Trunking systems and uses two different modulation types for uplink and downlink. This application can perform Phase II tests even if the radio is not currently being used for that application. This ensures that the radio will work if the system architecture changes in the future and where Phase II operation may be required.

"Aeroflex is pleased to have the opportunity to provide this unique test technology for Motorola APX radios," said Mike Fortna, Senior Product Marketing Engineer, Aeroflex. "The 3920B provides an advanced method for repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment for Motorola radios that requires minimal technical interface. Since the 3920B provides fully automated tests and alignment processes, Motorola dealers and end users can now utilize their technical resources to provide higher value services."

Availability

The Motorola APX Auto-Test II Option is available now. To take advantage of this new feature, the 3920B requires Option 220 for Phase II operation. The Aeroflex 3920B has a delivery time of eight weeks upon receipt of order.
