Moscow, 20 May 2015. - Aeroflot has obtained its Next Generation Boeing 737-800 named after the famous Russian scholar, writer and linguist Vladimir Dahl.

This delivery, another in a string of brand-new acquisitions, comes as a testament of Aeroflot's superior-airline status with its constant focus on fleet expansion and enhancement. New fleet translates in better service, higher efficiency and improved global competitive power of the leading Russian air carrier.

Aeroflot has outfitted its 737-800 with 158 seats, including 20 premium-style business class seats and 138 economy seats. Business-class features embedded in-flight entertainment system with individual monitors to access media-content. All of Aeroflot-ordered B737-800s arrive fresh from the manufacturer. Boeing 737 remains one of the most popular narrow-body passenger jets in the world. It's not for nothing since it ensures high comfort for passengers and cabin crew alike. The new arrival will fly on middle-range routes.

In line with the long-established tradition the new aircraft has been named in honour of an outstanding Russian figure. Aeroflot is widely known for its respect and promotion of the home country's vast legacy. Just like Vladimir Dahl who is best remembered for his fundamental Explanatory Dictionary of the Live Great Russian language. Discovering the riches of the Russian language and preserving the past, Dahl fostered the future. Inaugurating the new Dahl aircraft Aeroflot bridges the past and the future for the better today of its travelling customers.
