Aetna : and Albany Medical Center announce new agreement for Medicare members

ALBANY, N.Y. - Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Albany Medical Center today announced that the two organizations have signed a new contract that results in an expansion of Aetna's current Medicare Advantage network to include Albany Medical Center and its employed physicians.

'Our new contract is a testament to the strong, longstanding relationship we have with Albany Medical Center,' said David DeLorenzo, the provider network lead for Aetna in upstate New York. 'We are pleased that we can strengthen our collaboration by offering health care services to our Medicare members at northeastern New York's only health sciences center and the region's largest physicians practice.'

'Albany Med is continually seeking ways to better serve our patients,' said Joan Martin, vice president for payer contracting at Albany Medical Center. 'We are pleased to build on our current partnership with Aetna to offer better options of coverage for expert care.'

Aetna offers competitive Medicare Advantage products throughout the greater Albany area. Starting November 15, 2017, these products will now include covered inpatient and outpatient health care services at preferred, in-network rates from Albany Medical Center and its network of more than 500 physicians in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren and Washington counties.
