African Oxygen : News 2017-07-05 Production records smashed!

Afrox sites in Epping and Roodekop have shown they are at the top of their game and capable of shattering production records in an effort to meet customer demand. In June alone, Epping's MPG cylinder filler teams churned out a staggering 83 300 cylinders, of which 59 600 were LPG. Afrox Roodekop went even further in June filling distribute over a 130 000 cylinders of LPG! This follows hard on the heels of record production output at East London and Polokwane sites in May.

'The fact is Roodekop set two new production records for this year; filling more cylinders than it has for the past nine years, while in June also executed 1 146 delivery orders, 97% of them in full and on time!' said Ivan De Jager, Area Production Manager for Roodekop, Polokwane and Newcastle. 'Key to this success is a very capable and dedicated team of people who are willing to put in the additional effort to ensure we meet the demand. A huge effort goes into delivering these numbers and no single department can be singled out. Literally each person at Roodekop, whether they are based in maintenance, filling, inventory, distribution, security, or production each played a huge part in delivering these numbers and I am proud to be associated with them.'

Pieter Smith, Operations Manager, Cape Town, said: 'Filling 83 300 cylinders in a single month took a mammoth effort from the Filling and Distribution teams to pull off. I would to thank every person in those teams for their efforts and the long hours put in to make it all possible.'

Ivan added: 'Apart from our dedicated teams, I believe the fact that we are importing bulk as well as cylinders gives us the edge over our competitors and ensured that whenever a consumer is looking to purchase LPG, they more than likely will end up buying an Afrox cylinder!'
