- Georgia-based WellStar Health System expands its relationship with Agfa HealthCare. - Scalable DX-D 400 DR system provides efficient DR workflow while meeting throughput needs of lower volume facility. - Renowned Agfa HealthCare image quality provided with MUSICA image processing.
Agfa HealthCare today announced the installation of two DX-D 400 Direct Radiology (DR) systems at WellStar Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare organization comprised of five hospitals and 11 imaging centers headquartered in Marietta, Ga. The floor mounted, scalable, DX-D 400's are providing DR workflow, high image quality and the benefits of flexible exam configuration for both the WellStar Medical Physician Group and the WellStar Urgent Care facility.
An existing Agfa HealthCare customer, WellStar Health System selected the two DX-D 400 systems in large part for the excellent image quality of the MUSICA image processing that the facility had experienced with its Agfa HealthCare Computed Radiology (CR) systems. The versatile DX-D 400 system was also ideal for its ability to cover all general radiography exams and offers a competitive, high quality DR solution for these lower volume offices. It will be used in conjunction with the Agfa HealthCare IMPAX Picture Archiving and Communication System that is already installed at the facility.
Best in comfort for patients, excellent image quality for staff
"Staying ahead of the curve in imaging technology has enabled WellStar to be a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of the extensive array of health conditions that our patients experience," said Carol Scoggins, Executive Director, Diagnostic Outreach, WellStar Health Systems. "Adding Agfa HealthCare's DX-D 400 systems to two of our facilities has allowed us to continue to offer the best in comfort and efficiency for our patients, and the excellent image quality for our staff."
Potential to reduce patient dose
The floor-mounted, cost-effective and easily installed solution offers reliability and excellent uptime. Specially-tuned for MUSICA, delivering industry-leading image processing, and the NX workstation, for smoother workflow, the DX-D 400 has configurations and options for every need. The system can also be combined with Agfa HealthCare's CR systems, for even greater versatility. WellStar Health Systems ordered cesium flat panels with their DX-D 400 purchase for the potential to reduce patient dose.
"It's a testament to the image quality produced by MUSICA when our existing customers like WellStar Health Systems continue to expand their imaging solutions with additional systems from the Agfa HealthCare portfolio," said Greg Cefalo, Imaging Business Unit Manager, Agfa HealthCare, U.S.. "Because of the depth and breadth of our CR and DR product portfolios backed by the image quality and reliability of all of our systems, we are able to be the sole resource for all of our customers' imaging needs."
