AMP, the specialist aggregator of distributed heat and power and renewable fuels, is launching a service for large industrial organisations to provide fully funded Biomass and Waste Heat Recovery Energy Centres.

The on-site energy centres lock in secure, low cost and low carbon energy over the long term, future proofing organisations from future government legislation. The end-to-end service includes financing, designing, building and operating the energy plants, which are specifically tailored to meet the needs of intensive heat and power users.

Stuart Reid, Head of AMP's Industrial Renewables division, said: 'There is increasing pressure on businesses to reduce energy costs, cut carbon and achieve greater energy security and cost certainty. We're really excited to bring this new offering to the market which will help large industrials unlock the potential of decentralised, renewable energy. We believe that now is the time to commit to secure, sustainable, low cost energy which helps future proof organisations from future Government policy.'

An AMP energy centre requires no upfront capital from the customer with the volumes and costs of energy being used agreed under a long-term energy supply agreement. Our centres are financed through a dedicated funding vehicle, Aggregated Micro Power Infrastructure 2 plc, which has funds readily available to get projects off the ground quickly.

AMP's three tailored offerings to high intensity heat and power users are: Biomass Steam and Power, Biomass Process Steam and Heat, and Waste Heat Recovery Energy Centres. We work with leading technical partner Turboden, which has 35 years industry experience and 358 plants globally. Turboden is a specialist in integrating with biomass systems and also has considerable expertise in designing waste heat recovery plants.

AMP has significant biomass industry experience and through its wholly owned subsidiary Forest Fuels sells high quality wood pellet and wood chip to end customers throughout the UK. It also provides operation and maintenance services via AMP's majority interest in HW Energy. Forest Fuels has over 4,000 commercial customers and HW Energy provides service and maintenance to around 900 biomass boiler and CHP systems.
