Company demonstrates continued investment in tomorrow's workforce

Houston: Aggreko, the global leader in temporary power generation, temperature control and oil-free compressed air solutions, has announced the winners of the 2014 Phil Harrower and Aggreko Merit Scholarships. For the past fourteen years, the company has granted scholarships to students of its employees who are preparing to enter their first year of college. The scholarships are awarded to encourage and support higher education for the future leaders of tomorrow. One student is selected to receive the Phil Harrower Scholarship and four receive the Aggreko Merit Scholarship.

"Empowering the next generation of the workforce is an investment Aggreko is committed to making to ensure that our employees and their families stay on the path to success," said Bruce Pool, Managing Director, Aggreko North America. "Each of these students has exhibited hard work and dedication to their education and we are pleased to be able to support them in their goals."

In order to qualify, applicants had to: demonstrate their merit by submitting an essay describing their career ambitions and reasons for seeking a scholarship; earn a 3.0 grade point average or higher; and show proof of acceptance into an accredited college, university or technical school. Judges also evaluated candidates based on several other criteria including SAT/ACT scores, academic awards and extra-curricular activities.

Each year, the Phil Harrower Scholarship Program, named in honor of the late CEO of Aggreko, awards one recipient with a $1,500 scholarship per academic year. Aggreko Merit Scholarship recipients receive $1,000 per academic year. A total of $130,500 has been awarded to 70 exemplary students since the scholarship programs were launched in 2000, furthering the company's commitment to its employees and families.
