As part of the expansion of its long-haul network, airberlin will this winter increase the number of flights to the US and Caribbean from its Dusseldorf hub, responding to the seasonal high demand by offering more long-haul flights out of Dusseldorf than ever before.

New York draws visitors all year round, and from 4 November 2016, airberlin will expand its service to JFK to two daily flights every Friday. On all other week days, airberlin will continue to operate one daily flight between Dusseldorf and New York.

From October 30, travellers looking for a sunny vacation, can take one of airberlin's four weekly services to Fort Myers in Florida, which is the perfect starting point to explore the sunny state's southern coastline. airberlin will therefore operate four weekly flights all year round. From the start of the 2016 winter schedule, the airline will again operate all-year flights from Dusseldorf to Los Angeles. Flight AB7430 will depart Dusseldorf for Los Angeles five times per week at 9:45 am local time. In total, airberlin will operate 24 flights a week via Dusseldorf to four destinations in the US this winter: New York, Fort Myers, Miami and Los Angeles. The airline flies 40 times per week from its two hubs Dusseldorf and Berlin to the US during winter, with Chicago being the additional and fifth US-destination from Berlin.

Caribbean travellers will also have plenty of travel choice: In total, airberlin flies 17 times per week to the sandy beaches of the Caribbean. An additional flight from Dusseldorf to Puerto Plata will start on 5 November, taking the weekly total to three. Along with the four weekly flights to Punta Cana, airberlin will therefore offer seven flights per week to the Dominican Republic from Dusseldorf this winter. From 2 November 2016, airberlin will provide three weekly flights from Dusseldorf to Cancun, with one additional flight compared to last year. airberlin is adding an extra flight to Varadero, taking the total to three per week, and two per week to Havana. Therefore, airberlin will operate one additional flight to the popular destination of Cuba in the coming winter. The regular winter schedule to the island of Curacao will include two flights per week from November onwards, with one flight per week in the interim.

There are numerous connections to airberlin's Dusseldorf hub from many airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which benefit from short transfer times. In the USA, American Airlines offers up to 56 connecting services to domestic destinations, as well as Canada.
