The introduction of this popular new state of the art aircraft will see the airline increase capacity between Auckland and Adelaide by up to 23 percent over the peak season (26 October 2017 - 25 March 2018). It will also see the airline offer Business Premier™ and Premium Economy™ on this route for the first time.

Air New Zealand Chief Revenue Officer Cam Wallace who travelled to Adelaide this week to make the announcement alongside South Australia's Minister for Tourism Hon Leon Bignell, says the introduction of scheduled Dreamliner services for the first time is significant for the South Australia market.

'We're looking forward to introducing the Dreamliner on the Adelaide route. This change is really going to enhance the experience we offer our customers travelling between New Zealand and South Australia with more choice about when and how they fly,' says Mr Wallace.

These changes complement the investment Air New Zealand has been making on the ground where the airline recently became the first to offer self-service kiosks at Adelaide Airport, improving the check-in experience for customers.

South Australia is an important market for Air New Zealand. Six months ago it launched its Better Way to Fly campaign designed to encourage more Australians to choose Air New Zealand for long haul travel by connecting through Auckland to North and South America.

Air New Zealand will operate a combination of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A320 aircraft between Auckland and Adelaide over the peak season. The schedule from 26 October 2017 - 25 March 2018 is as follows:
