Veritas International selects highly secure satellite-based tracking system from Airbus Defence and Space for VIP Protection
High performance security and tracking solution Iritrack to protect high profile personalities

Veritas International Ltd has selected Airbus Defence and Space to provide a complete communications solution for high quality tracking to meet security requirements of its high profile clients. To improve the safety of its VIP client in an increasingly unpredictable global security climate, Veritas equips a fleet of armoured vehicles deployed at strategic sites worldwide with the satellite-based Iritrack solution from Airbus Defence and Space.

Iritrack is an embedded real-time tracking and security system that delivers two-way data and voice satellite communications in one single device. Based on Iridium's global satellite coverage, Iritrack meets the requirements for highly reliable location-based tracking and communications in mission-critical environments. Its integrated alarm system with panic buttons and automatic alarms based on embedded shock and crash sensors will furthermore considerably enhance security and safety for Veritas' VIP client.

The system has been integrated in high security vehicles with a specific installation of antennas, remote panic buttons, and a satellite phone communication capability. It will be connected to Airbus Defence and Space's secured online tracking platform, providing access to real-time monitoring, geofencing and alarm management for all VIP vehicles. Thanks to the embedded hands-free two-way satellite voice call function of the Iritrack system, permanent contact can be maintained between the Security HQ and the driver, who can place and receive voice calls at any time.

"It's vital that we utilise all available measures to provide security and protection of important personalities such as politicians, stars, and other high profile people," said Keith Grant, Communications Manager, Veritas International Ltd. "Iritrack will help us to secure our client by providing live satellite location-based positions of the vehicles in addition to emergency alarms and secure two-way satellite communications that is independent from the local telecoms infrastructure."
