At 7.10 pm local time, water volume in Mir open pit was 21 cubic meters. Water level in the shaft was at mark -240.80 meters.

Works related to the controlled discharge of water from the open pit mine by focused cumulative explosions were carried out during the day. From 9.23 am to 5.34 pm, 13 charges were dropped to the water surface of the open pit bottom. These works will continue on August 23.

While there remains a danger of uncontrolled inrush of water into the mine shaft, rescue works underground are forbidden.
