Chuo-ku, Tokyo-based Akamai Technologies GK, the global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services announced that Nintendo Co., Ltd. has adopted Akamai Media Delivery Solutions to help deliver mobile games to their customers around the world.

Nintendo and DeNA Co., Ltd. ('DeNA') have jointly developed an application for smart phones, tablets, and other smart devices, in addition to a membership service. To support the company's expansion into mobile gaming, Nintendo chose Akamai Media Delivery Solutions to help deliver content seamlessly to a global audience.

Mobile is a very powerful tool that can connect directly to a large number of users. When added to Nintendo's existing business models, it represents a completely new communication channel. With the launch of this service, Nintendo would likely see a significant increase in the number of users.
