Alstom is engaged to ensure responsible supply chain practices along rail transport value chain.

Alstom announces that Olivier Baril, its Sourcing Vice President, has been nominated as Chairman of Railsponsible, succeeding Jeroen Wegkamp, Chief Purchase Officer Dutch Railways (NS). Railsponsible, a non-profit business organisation launched in March 2015, is formed by 7 companies: Alstom, Bombardier Transportation, SNCF, Deutsche Bahn, Knorr Bremse, Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) and SKF.

The initiative aims to engage rail industry suppliers and ensure responsible supply chain practices in a collaborative way by sharing best practices and processes. Olivier Baril said: 'I am honoured to become the chairman of this initiative and I would like to thank Mr. Jeroen Wegkamp for the great job he accomplished. Through Railsponsible, Alstom and its partners aim to formalise, implement and incorporate responsible supply chain practices along the entire rail transport value chain. Sustainability is a priority for Alstom and our commitment through Railsponsible illustrates this.'
