Altran strengthens its Global Delivery Center capability and will provide Network Operations services to Nokia in India

This contract is a first major milestone for the 'Altran 2020. Ignition' Strategic Plan and clearly demonstrates Altran's premium performance in Industrialized GlobalShore©

Altran, a global leader in innovation and high-tech engineering consulting, has been awarded a new contract by Nokia for its Global Delivery Center (GDC) in two locations in India: Noida and Chennai. Through these GDCs, Nokia provides around the clock Network Operations to its customers globally. More than 500 experts from Altran will work together with Nokia's own global service delivery teams in both locations.

As the Network Operations sector of the Telecom market is facing a major shift towards enhanced competitiveness, improved efficiency and reducing cost, the ability to leverage the best of onshore, nearshore and offshore capabilities is becoming a key success factor in the industry. As a leader in network infrastructure and advanced technologies, Nokia started industrializing and globalizing its Network operations since 2006 and manages customer operations through several Global Delivery Centers and Hubs across the world. For a clear differentiation on service quality, Nokia has constantly stepped up focus on competence of the workforce and automation of tools and processes.

Developing the Industrialized GlobalShore delivery and operating model is a core component of 'Altran 2020. Ignition' Strategy. Industrialized GlobalShore aims to provide customers with premium performance, increased competitiveness, enhanced agility, standardization and differentiation. Nokia will benefit from full life-cycle services through the Industrialized GlobalShore model, delivering flexibility, scale and speed which are key assets in supporting Nokia to bring services and new commercial deployments to market faster.

The Network operations services Altran provides under this contract include Alarm Monitoring, Fault, Performance and Incident Management, Configuration Management, Network Design & Optimization, Software & Tools development and support.

"We are delighted to have a chance to strengthen our cooperation with Altran, that helps us ensuring the capacity and availability of expert services for our GDC operations, complementing the work of our own global service delivery professionals," says Amit Dhingra, head of Global Service Delivery at Nokia Mobile Networks.

"Last November, I presented as part of our new strategic plan 'Altran 2020. Ignition' our vision of the ER&D sector. We co-construct with our clients the best possible scheme to address their business issues and help them further enhance in competitiveness and agility. Our Industrialized GlobalShore model answers some of these challenges, and we are proud to partner today with Nokia on their Network Operations", said Dominique Cerutti, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Altran.

"Altran started collaborating with Nokia on different projects and in different countries over a decade ago. This new contract comes as a milestone for both companies, with Altran building the Industrialized GlobalShore model for premium performance. Our Indian capability is an important component of this model with now over 1600 experts in India and the ambition to reach 10 000 throughout the Industrialized GlobalShore network by the end of 2020 once the model will be operating at its full speed," declared Daniel Chaffraix, Executive Vice-President in charge of Transformation at Altran.
