Altran selected to accompany ENGIE with the creation of a digital roadmap for its industrial assets

Altran, global leader in engineering and R&D services (ER&D), will accompany ENGIE, a major global player in the international energy industry (electricity, natural gas and energy services), for the first phase of its Digital Operations Program, to analyze the potential impact of digital transformation on the performance of ENGIE's industrial assets.

Altran will provide enhanced consultancy services to ENGIE in order to develop a digital roadmap and industrial use cases; both will allow ENGIE to make its current assets evolve into a fleet of augmented assets and into a high performance operators' network functioning in an integrated environment.

A joint international team combining design thinking as well as industrial and digital expertise will deploy a digital transformation roadmap in order to strengthen ENGIE's business in four strategic areas:

  • Enhanced Operations: maximize safety, improve decision-making and the performance of field operators and supervisors
  • Augmented Assets: develop business scenarios which will improve asset efficiency and optimize asset value
  • Global Intelligence:
    • develop semi-autonomous operations by implementing cognitive systems and situational awareness

    • assist in multi-physics simulations of new operational scenarios or insights

  • Ecosystem: develop technology partnerships, establish new digital standards….

Commenting on this partnership, Dominique Cerutti, Chairman and CEO of the Altran Group affirmed: "Altran is very proud to take a step further with such a strategic client as ENGIE. We are delighted to be recognized by ENGIE as it deploys its visionary Digital Operation Program. Altran will explore the potential of ENGIE's ambitious digital transformation, unlocking enhanced value and performance for its industrial assets worldwide. This project perfectly illustrates Altran's new positioning as presented in our strategic plan, Altran 2020.Ignition."

Yves Le Gélard, Executive Vice President of ENGIE asserted: "ENGIE is facing a major shift in its industry and has the ambition of being a pioneer in the transformation of the energy sector. The digitization of our asset fleet coupled with the invention of radically innovative business models is therefore crucial. The deep industrial knowledge across multiple industry sectors and geographies demonstrated by Altran have made them an obvious choice for designing our roadmap."
