NEW YORK, NY - March 5, 2014 - AMC has promoted Ben Davis to SVP of scripted programming. In this role, he is responsible for helping to manage existing productions and the network's scripted programming development slate. He will continue to report to Susie Fitzgerald, AMC's SVP of scripted development and current programming.

Davis joined AMC in 2005, as the network was transforming itself by developing and delivering original scripted programming to viewers, and has steadily risen through positions of increasing responsibility in the network's programming department. He was part of the team behind the network's Emmy Award-winning mini-series Broken Trail, as well as the pilots for Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Rubicon.

Over the years, he has served as the day-to-day creative executive in charge of the Emmy Award-winning series Breaking Bad and Mad Men (first three seasons) and The Killing.

"Ben is a talented executive who joined AMC just as the network was beginning its original programming transformation, and he has played a significant role in our success," Fitzgerald said. "We are pleased to recognize the contributions he has made across many iconic AMC series, and his continuing work in helping to develop the next generation of AMC programming, with this well-deserved promotion."

Acting as both the network and studio executive, Davis played an instrumental role in developing The Walking Dead  into the number one show on television among adults 18-49. He has overseen current programming for all seasons, including the upcoming fifth season, of the record-breaking comic book adaptation.

Recently, he developed the pilots Halt and Catch Fire and Turn, and currently manages the creative process for their first seasons. Davis spearheaded the development of AMC's most recent pilots, Knifeman and Galyntine, which will both begin production this spring. He additionally supervises creative development for the Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, which is currently in pre-production and will premiere on AMC in November.
