Angie Jones recognized for distinguished contribution to the advancement of radioactive waste and radioactive material management


Phoenix, United States (30 March 2015) - Amec Foster Wheeler today announces that Angie Jones, Director of Amec Foster Wheeler Academy has been appointed a Fellow of the Waste Management Symposia (WMS) and appointed to their Board of Directors, in recognition of "her distinguished contribution(s) to the advancement of radioactive waste and radioactive material management."

Angie received the award at the 2015 Waste Management Conference, in Phoenix AZ, which was held March 16-19, 2015.

3) Angie Jones is Director of Amec Foster Wheeler's Academy, the company's learning and development platform. Throughout her 28 year career, she has been in the vanguard of developing methodologies for fast-track design/build projects, implementing streamlined remedial investigations, and executing site remediation and conventional construction projects ranging up to $50 million. Angie holds both a masters and bachelor in civil engineering from the University of Louisville. She is a licensed professional engineer in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Delivering her first paper at the conference in 1998 on the remediation of low-level radioactive tanks at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Angie has also presented an additional seven papers over the course of her 17 year involvement. She has also organized and chaired numerous technical sessions and international panels. Since 2000 she has been a member of the Program Advisory Board holding position of Lead Track Co-Chair for both the Environmental Restoration and the Crosscutting Policies & Programs during most of her tenure.
