London, United Kingdom, (21 July 2014) - AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, announces today the appointment of Julian Walker as Director of Communications.

Reporting to Chief Executive, Samir Brikho, and based in London, Julian will take responsibility for all the company's external and internal communications, including media, employee, investor, marketing and brand, along with government relations.

Commenting on the appointment, Samir Brikho, Chief Executive of AMEC said: "Julian has a strong track record in corporate communications and brings a wealth of diverse expertise and creativity to the role. I am delighted to welcome him on board at this exciting time in the company's development."

Julian originally joined AMEC in May 2014 as Interim Director of Communications from Travelport Limited, where he was Global Vice President - Head of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Before that he was a Managing Director with The Hogarth Partnership and co-founded communications consultancy Gainsborough in 2003, prior to which he was UK Managing Director at Citigate Dewe Rogerson. A former Lloyd's insurance broker in the City, he was also previously Head of Communications (Europe, Middle East & Africa) at The Chase Manhattan Bank.
