Lucretia Guia promoted to Vice President - Labor Relations and Deputy General Counsel

Kendall Lock will serve as Vice President - Enterprise Technology Services

FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines today named two officers to its senior leadership team.

Labor Relations and Deputy General Counsel

Lucretia Guia has been promoted to Vice President - Labor Relations and Deputy General Counsel, a position that was previously open.

'Lucretia is a proven leader and has a history of working collaboratively with our team members, union representatives, and internal and external counsel,' said Paul Jones, American's Senior Vice President and General Counsel, to whom Guia will report. 'As we continue to work toward creating an environment that truly cares for our team members, no one is better suited to lead that charge in labor matters than Lucretia.'

Guia joined US Airways in 2009 after practicing labor and employment law with firms in Atlanta, Georgia, and Greensboro, North Carolina, for 20 years. Since 2013, she has served as American's Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, responsible for all aspects of labor relations law, including labor contracts for American's 75,000 union-represented team members. In her new role, Guia will have oversight of American's Labor Relations department as well as team members working in Labor Relations Law for the company.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia, and received her Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law.

Enterprise Technology Services

Kendall Lock has been named Vice President - Enterprise Technology Services, a position previously held by Steven Leist, who was named American's Vice President - Customer Technology in September 2017.

'American has been focused on delivery transformation in order to set new standards for quickly delivering value to market for customers and team members alike,' said Maya Leibman, American's Chief Information Officer and to whom Lock will report. 'Kendall's strong background in Cloud, Agile development and DevOps practices make him the ideal addition to our team.'

In this role, Lock will lead IT operations, network, end-user computing, telecommunications and security.

Lock joins American from IBM, where he led the Cloud Managed Services (CMS) organization as Vice President. While at IBM, he held a number of executive positions in Systems and Service Management, Public Cloud Infrastructure and Developer Services, and Managed Application Delivery. Lock graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
