Devon May named Senior Vice President of Network Strategy

Kenji Hashimoto named Senior Vice President of Finance & Corporate Development

FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines today announced that Devon May will assume leadership over American's network strategy, including network planning, alliances, and the airline's partnerships with regional carriers. With this new role, Kenji Hashimoto will assume May's current financial responsibilities in addition to corporate development and insurance.

'Our network strategy consists of three key areas: our domestic and international network, our regional partners that feed the mainline system, and our relationships with other carriers through alliances and partnerships,' said American's President Robert Isom. 'Devon's extensive background in fleet planning and flight profitability, his experience in finance, and his prior work in route and capacity planning provide a great foundation for strategic leadership of our overall network strategy.'

In this new role, May will oversee all regional flight services operating under the American Eagle brand, including the company's three wholly owned carriers - Envoy, Piedmont and PSA - as well as seven regional affiliates. He will also partner closely with Joe Mohan, Vice President of Alliances & Partnerships, and Vasu Raja, Vice President of Network Planning, to ensure American continues to provide a strong network into the future through its regional and mainline operation
and alliance partners.

Kenji Hashimoto, Senior Vice President of Finance & Corporate Development, will assume May's responsibilities over Financial Planning & Analysis.

'We already knew that Kenji was a fantastic fit for the Finance organization when he rejoined the team in May,' said Derek Kerr, American's Chief Financial Officer. 'With this new role, we're excited to have his approach of teamwork, collaboration and strategic planning to strengthen the Finance organization even more.'

In addition to the corporate development and insurance work currently under his purview, Hashimoto will now oversee American's capital and operating budget, long-range financial planning, forecasting systems, flight profitability and financial analysis functions. He will also have responsibility for division controllers and purchasing, partnering with departments throughout the organization. The airline's Treasury team, led by Tom Weir, will report to Kerr.
