AMERICAN AIRLINES STATEMENT ON NEW U.S. AND CHINA VISA POLICY

FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines today issued the following statement on the extension of visa validity for travel between the United States and China:
"American Airlines applauds the announcement today by the White House of an agreement between the U.S. and China to extend the validity of both tourist and business visas issued to each other's citizens to 10 years. The countries also agreed to extend the validity of student and exchange visas to five years.
"This agreement is a substantial step forward in opening up travel and tourism opportunities between our two countries. It will result in more travel, greater flexibility and lower costs for citizens in both countries. We are very pleased by this announcement, particularly in light of our increasing service to China."
