FORT WORTH, Texas - Customers in Atlanta and Los Angeles will soon have new travel options between their cities when American Airlines launches nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) on March 5, 2015. Customers may begin booking travel on these flights on Sunday, Oct. 12.

These new routes will further expand American's network from its Los Angeles hub, an important gateway for both domestic and international travel. It will also provide Atlanta customers with easy access to this key business and leisure destination, as well as one-stop service to hundreds of global destinations on American, US Airways and their oneworld® partners.

"American is expanding our Los Angeles hub with Atlanta service to give customers more travel options between these two key markets and Atlanta customers convenient access to Southern California," said Chuck Schubert, vice president - Network and Schedule Planning. "With nearly 200 daily departures out of Los Angeles and nearly 50 out of Atlanta, we're giving customers more opportunities to explore the world for business or pleasure on our growing global network."

The new flights will be served with Boeing 737-800 aircraft and will operate on the following schedule (all times local):

ATL- LAX (three times per day)
Departs ATL at 7 a.m. ET
Arrives at LAX at 8:40 a.m. PT

Departs ATL at 12:50 p.m. ET
Arrives at LAX at 2:30 p.m. PT

Departs ATL at 6:55 p.m. ET
Arrives at LAX at 8:35 p.m. PT

LAX- ATL (three times per day)
Departs LAX at 12:15 a.m. PT
Arrives at ATL at 7:40 a.m. ET

Departs LAX at 10:30 a.m. PT
Arrives at ATL at 5:55 p.m. ET

Departs LAX at 3:20 p.m. PT
Arrives at ATL at 10:45 p.m. ET

With this new Atlanta service, American will serve 55 domestic and international destinations from its LAX hub. The new route complements American's new domestic and international service at LAX , which includes flights to São Paulo (GRU), Edmonton, Alberta (YEG), Vancouver, British Columbia (YVR), San Antonio (SAT) and Tampa (TPA) service that will begin next month, as well as American's existing Asia service out of LAX to Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Shanghai (PVG). With the new Los Angeles service, Atlanta customers will have direct access to eight of American's hubs - Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Phoenix.

American's customers at LAX can enjoy Flagship® Check-In service, breeze through airport security with TSA PreCheck  and head to American's Admirals Club® and Flagship Lounge in Terminal 4 for personalized service and exceptional amenities before their flights.

American and Cadillac also recently launched a luxury airport transfer program at LAX for select ConciergeKey members with tight transfer times. The program escorts these customers to their next gate of departure in a Cadillac CTS, SRX or Escalade. By the end of this year, American plans to roll out this program at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and New York's LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport, pending local approvals.
