You can't miss his big Southern smile the minute he walks toward you, decked out in his Fleet Service Clerk uniform.

For 32-years, Scott Davenport has proudly been a member of the American Airlines family. Much of that time has been spent at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Scott is the first to tell you this wasn't his first career choice. At 18-years-old he and Terri Mortvedt, who is now the Senior Specialist Communications at DFW Airport, crossed paths at a hiring fair in Des Moines, Iowa, and Terri convinced Scott to come and work at American.

They now work side-by-side at DFW. 'Scott is a great guy with Midwest work ethics,' said Terri. 'He's always got a smile on his face and would do anything for you.'

Scott has seen a lot in his time at the airline and has the respect of both peers and managers. 'Scott is very knowledgeable and dedicated to American Airlines and its customers,' said David Vitiello, Customer Service Manager, DFW.

'He really enjoys helping with the tours of American's operation here at DFW,' said David. 'After being with American for more than 30 years, Scott has a lot of good stories of his past adventures.'

Scott's passion for American couldn't be missed during National Aviation Day. Scott found great joy in escorting the #AVGeeks around the airport, explaining the ins and outs of airport operations.

For Scott it's all about the people. If you ask him why he has stuck around for so long he is the first to tell you, 'What has kept me going after 30-plus years of working for AA as a Fleet Service Clerk - the hard-working, fun-loving folks I keep company with.'

''Many hands make light work, '' my Dad always said. So I've tried to be that lending hand to coworkers whenever needed.'
