American Express announced today new merchants that have integrated Amex Express Checkout into their digital commerce experiences in 2016 and 2017, including Delta Air Lines, Avis Car Rental, Budget Car Rental, Hulu, Neiman Marcus, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Staples and 1-800-FLOWERS.COM.

Launched in 2015, Amex Express Checkout is the fast and secure way for tens of millions of American Card Members to check out at participating online merchants by using their existing Amex account login credentials, instead of manually adding their personal information into the checkout experience. A recent PYMNTS.com study found that Amex Express Checkout can reduce shopping cart abandonment and improve conversion rates by up to 50%1. Amex Express Checkout is one of the many examples of how American Express is leveraging its end-to-end capabilities to modernize customer service, providing relevant experiences for Card Members and merchants alike.

“We are committed to providing our merchant partners and Card Members with the most seamless and secure online checkout experience,” said Luke Gebb, senior vice president, Enterprise Digital, American Express. “Amex Express Checkout leverages proprietary technology and our closed loop business model to deliver meaningful results for our customers. We’re pleased by the results, including high conversion rates for merchants, and strong repeat usage from our Card Members.”

Built for Merchants

For merchant partners, Amex Express Checkout has proven to be a powerful commerce solution. A recent PYMNTS.com study found that Amex Express Checkout has the highest conversion rate of major industry online buy buttons1. Additionally, Amex Express Checkout users spent an average of 78% more than other Amex Card Members in 20152. American Express Card Members using Amex Express Checkout spent 54% more per purchase than Amex Card Members not using Amex Express Checkout in Q1 2016.3
