American International Group, Inc. : NY Fed To Seek Offers For AIG-Tied Mortgage Securities -Bloomberg

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is looking for offers for more of the mortgage bonds taken on in the government's bailout of American International Group Inc. (>> American International Group, Inc.), Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.
An auction could happen as soon as next week, and it might involve about $6 billion in debt, Bloomberg cites one of the people as saying.
The bank sold $7.01 billion in debt held in the Maiden Lane II vehicle on Jan. 19 to Credit Suisse Group AG (CS) after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (>> Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.) made a bid, according to Bloomberg.
A spokesman for the New York Fed declined to comment to Bloomberg.
